Features

Its design is based on servicing the Waste Water Sector where many problems occur due to use of equipment which is not designed for conditions it operates in. Most imported equipment from Europe who has Strict Waste Water Standards compared to Africa, speaks for itself.

The VX Submersible Pump is designed to handle Africa's conditions. Very little, if any, attention is given to what is flushed down a cistern.
The VX Submersible Pump is capable of handling whatever is flushed.
Main design concentrates on non-clogging principles.
Most important part on a Submersible, the Mechanical Shaft Seal.

Clogging prevention is done by reducing the Volute Area. Combined with high Back Vanes and close tolerance on the Open Vortex Impeller, is the key.

As in all Fluid Pumps products, the Mechanical Shaft Seal is out of the product being transferred, in an oil filled chamber. No stringy material can build up around the Mechanical Shaft Seal, causing seal failure.

Design

Our precisely designed Quatro Mechanical Shaft Seal in Tungsten Carbide / Tungsten Carbide (Motor End), and Tungsten Carbide / Tungsten Carbide (Impeller End) is fitted with O-Rings sealing on Shaft at four places. Spring tension is achieved with Metal Bellow which allows for same consistent pressure throughout the Mechanical Shaft Seal arrangement. No tension variation as in conventional Spring Mechanical Seals, where the wire size and coil length differs in every batch.
The Quatro Mechanical Shaft Seal is Oil Submerged, in an Oil Chamber for maximum lubrication and cooling. This arrangement allows for limited Dry Running without damage to the Mechanical Shaft Seal. Furthermore the Quattro Mechanical Shaft Seal is pre-screened by two Oil Seals on Impeller neck, which also closes the cavity on Shaft through Back Cover.

The pump is equipped with a replaceable Back Cover, which not only is a cost saver wear part, but also protects the Bearing / Oil Housing from product being transferred, Velocities in Volute. Replacing allows for OME Clearance on Impeller to Back Cover.

Motor / Rotor is of high quality, German manufactured.
Motor Winding Insulation is Class H-180°C, with B Temperature Rise.
Rotor Assembly balanced to ISO 1940/1, G2.5, is a standard on all the models, including 12-Pole Motors.

Rotor Shaft - Non Corrosive 431T Material with High Tensile strength and quality magnetic characteristics.

Pump / Motor Housing Spigots are all based on Ex designed with H7 tolerances.
This ensures stable Motor / Pump alignment under extreme pumping conditions.
Only difference to Ex Specification is the Certification. This is standard on all VX Pumps.

The VX Submersible is a Standard within a Standard.
Multiple Impeller Options to meet Duty Point demand.
With Impeller Diameter change, the exact Duty Point Flow can be achieved.

VX Pumps are supplied Free-standing, or with our Quick Under Water Coupler (Duck foot Bend). The Fluid Under Water Quick Coupler is designed and Patented to solve the problem of "Pump pressure leaking / bypass" when Pump does not seal properly on Duck foot Bend under water, which is not visible, to be rectified. The Fluid design overcomes the above mentioned problem.

The problems with other Duck foot Bends not having these principles became a Sales Pitch to replace Submersible Pumps with Self Primer Pumps.
Problem with Self Primer Pumps they only pump mid water, leaving all the heavy substances behind, solids build up accumulate on sump floor, and the top water builds up a crust as Self Primer Pump lose Prime if these are pumped.
Then a Self Primer does not function where Stringy Fibres are present.
Solving this, a Cutter System, in the inflow to the Pump Station is installed, to Cut up all Solids and Stringy Fibres. A knife only Cuts While its Sharp.

The designed Seal, is fitted between the Slide Shoe and the Discharge Flange, which at the same time serves as a Gasket Seal between the Slide Shoe and the Discharge Flange of the Pump Volute. The Slide Shoe is bolted and can not "Blow nor Push Out" as in the case of other Duck foot Bends.

The best solution is to have your pump on the Sump Floor in order to prevent the Sump from Sludge build up, and with every 5th cycle pull the level of the Sump right down to prevent crust build up.

The Vortex Impeller Action creates enough swirl in Sump to prevent dead areas and build up of sand on Sump Floor.

The Fluid VX, made of Special Material, is successfully installed as De-Gritting Pumps at Inlet Works removing sand before it washes down the Purification Process.

Non Clog Principle

Volute design accommodates Africa's conditions, where we have a large amount of rags, stringy fibres (materials) present in our sewage systems. Volute area was reduced without compensating on the solid size through-let. This was done to increase fluid velocity within the Volute to prevent Vortex Clog. This was achieved with great success as the Fluid VX Pump does not clog.
No open cavities or bolt holes are present, so no Velocity wear takes place in the hydraulic area of the Pump Volute.
