Fluid Mixer - PM 500

Design

The PM Mixer is there to achieve Speeds via Reduction between Fixed Motor Poles.
Speed Reduction is done using Heavy Duty Duplex Roller Chain and Sprockets, that run in a Transfer Case filled with Oil.

The PCD is adjustable by an Off Centre Output Shaft Housing, which is locked into position with a Clamping Ring, once the Chain Tension is Set and then Locked in place.
Low Cost replacement components compared to matching Gears.

Output Shaft Bearing Assembly

Same configuration as the DD500 Direct Drive Mixer, with a Double Angular Contact Bearing at the Coupling End and a Cup, Cone Taper Roller Bearing on Propeller End.
Bearing configuration prevent failure due to Radial/Axial and Back Thrust generated by the Propeller's Mixing Forces.

Mechanical Shaft Seal

Metal Bellow. Tungsten Carbide / Tungsten Carbide. Viton O-Rings.
Positioned in an Oil filled Chamber and is not in the product being mixed.

Propeller

Two-Blade, Self Cleaning Type. Material 304 or 316L Stainless Steel. Balanced to ISO 1940/1, G6.3.
The Angle and Pitch of the Propeller Blade are altered to meet Mixing and Kw Demand.

Advantage over Direct Drive Mixer

Alternative Speeds can be achieved which is not standard Fixed Motor Poles, thus giving a wider range of mixing capacity.

Disadvantage

A heavier and more bulky unit than the Direct Drive Mixer, as a Transfer Case, Sprockets and Chains are added.
More moving parts require more maintenance.

The PM Mixer Motor is of Standard Design as in Fluid VX, SC and SH Series.

— Insulation Class: H / 180°C.
— Protection: IP68 @ 30m.
— Start: DOL or Star / Delta.

Installation

As with All Fluid Mixers the Standard Lifting Divide is used.
Any installation can be achieved by altering Lifting Device to Suit.
